Canada is introducing an immediate expensing 'productivity mega deduction' for most new capital investment, with two-thirds of assets qualifying, including machinery and manufacturing equipment, software, patents, R&D, fiber, rail, pipelines, and other infrastructure. This lowers the after-tax cost of investing in Canada and should support capex, productivity, and the eligible sectors.
